Before we look at the games here’s how the log looks like going into game week 6. KCB lead with 17 points, two ahead of 2nd placed Mwamba who have 15 points, Nakuru are 3rd with 13 points, Impala and Strathmore are tied with 10 points but Impala take fourth with a better points aggregate. Homeboyz are 6th a point behind Strath (9), Quins are 7th having amassed the same amount of points (7). Kisumu are 8th with 6 points, Machine 9th with 4 points and Nondies anchoring at no.10 with two points.
This game week serves a top and bottom of the table clash, as well as a mid table clash. The bottom of the log clash features two sides with a renewed hope, that despite their positions in the table. Nondies will be confident of a win in their home turf, especially after putting in a great performance to hold the defending champions Quins. Machine will be looking to make it two wins in two in 2012 after their narrow win over bitter rivals Strathmore and continue their march up the table.
Speaking of Strathmore, they will be up against Homeboyz in the mid table clash, at their madaraka grounds, this promises to be a fast paced action filled encounter, as both teams play a similar brand of rugby that is spreading the ball wide and fast, thus it should be a great watch. The Harlequins, who are closer to the bottom than the top, travel to Nakuru where they face a really tough Wanyore side. Quins cannot afford to drop any more points if they are to successfully defend their title, whereas the Wanyore will look to keep the momentum going more so now that they have an opportunity to go into 2nd place. This is another cracker for the weekend.
Impala host the boys from Kondele, this should be a real test for Kisumu, as Impala will be firing on all cylinders and will be keen on getting maximum points, that being said Impala should not take the Kondele outfit lightly.
My pick of the week, and feature match is a no brainer really, the top of the table clash between the unbeaten KCB and Mwamba. This one will be played at the RFUEA as Mwamba have not yet started using their new home the Nyayo stadium. Expect fireworks, thunder and lightning any time these two meet this time should be no different. Kulabu will be aiming to bounce back from that bitter defeat at Impala and what better way to wash out the bitter taste than to be the first team to beat KCB this season. On the other side the Kakamega crazy boys will obviously be out to defend their almost perfect run with their all, the fact that top spot is up for grabs in this one just adds the to the flavor. If am not wrong, this should also be the final game for ‘Tall’ before he leaves for Bristol so I imagine he’ll really be up for it. KCB will be missing triple A, Andrew ‘Arms’ Amonde through Injury. He picked up a hairline fracture on his shin during the Nakuru game and will also be out of the sevens squad to NZ. No a hair line fracture si injury ya nywele, it’s just a very small bone fracture, kind of like the size of a strand of hair. Here’s wishing him a quick recovery….
With That Ladies and Gentlemen…….Remember Saturday is a Rugby day, aaaannnnndddd…..
KWISHA!!!
Haiya by the way have you voted for your player of the year 2011? Bado?! How? Kua chipu..top right corner mara hiyo…
