KCB will be looking to add to the Eric Shirley Shield and Mwamba Cup that they have so far won this season. The Lions have been in hot form in this year’s tournament, carrying on the form they have shown in the second tier ESS and Mwamba Cup competitions.

The bankers have only conceded one try in the three games played so far, and have let in a total of eight points in total. They started off with a walk over result against KEMU on match day one. Following this up with a 61-0 thrashing of TUK, before closing the Pool matches with a 28-5 win over Thika road neighbours Blak Blad.

These results saw them set up a cup semi final against Nakuru, winning this one 15-3 at the Lion’s den in Ruaraka.

Homeboyz have also been impressive, winning 2 of their three fixtures in Pool C. A 43-5 win over Thika RFC got them going before they lost narrowly to Nondies 12-5, a 29-3 win on match day three saw the Djs sneak into the cup semi finals on aggregate points.

The Djs met Strathmore Leos in the second semi final, again booking their ticket to the final with the skin of their teeth, off a 31-30 result.

These two don’t know how to play a dull encounter, and since the Homeboyz came into being they have always relished playing the Lions. It promises to be yet another enthralling encounter.

In the Plate, Kenya Harlequins face off against Blak Blad at the UoN, Quins beat Mwamba 32-19 in the semi finals, with Blad earning a walk over against Kabras.

It will be an all university affair in the Bowl, as TUK take on Catholic University at the Madaraka Sports Complex. These two upset traditional giants to make this final, TUK edging out Impala 14-10 with the CUEA Monks beating Nondies 21-10.

KEMU beat Mean machine 22-18 in another upset in the Shield to set up an encounter against Thika, who beat JKUAT 11-5.
