Leading 9-0 at half time against Mombasa, the Catholic Monks added 12 points in the second period for 21-0 result, the sides first ever win in the top flight.

That win has seen the Monks move out of last position into 11th spot on 4 points. Harrison Asena and Dominic Mose were the try scorers for the Monks in that memorable win.
Other results saw Kabras put 52 points against Blakblad’s 5 at the Kakamega Show grounds, Nakuru were awarded a walk over against Machine who failed to travel to the rift town.
The Leos were in free flowing form at the RFUEA on Saturday as they ran in 46 points against the highly fancied Western Bulls side. Later in the day Mwamba overturned a 5-3 half time score to register a 20-10 win over Homeboyz. The black shirts remain in 4th spot, with the Djs in 10th spot.
Super Friday action kicked off with KCB dictating the early proceedings against Impala at the RFUEA. The lions were rampant in the opening 25 minutes, running in three tries off rolling mauls. Impala had tried to nullify the KCB maul by not committing men to the breakdown but failed to convince centre referee Andrew Karani who let the Lions drive on.
Curtis Lilako scored twice from the back of a maul, with captain Philip Wamae landing the third try, Darwin Mukidza with the extras. Impala’s only points came through Moses Kola’s boot. The lions will however feel they could have done better here, failing to make the bonus point in a game they dominated for large periods.

Impala tightened things up in the second half, but could not breach the KCB defence that impressively held tight, especially in the closing 10 minutes. The Lions remain in 3rd spot on 23 points, with Impala in 9th on 11 points.
The country’s oldest derby did not disappoint as Quins defied the odds to register a 18-14 win against Nondies. Most had expected Nondies to finally get one over their rivals but Quins had other ideas in mind.
The match kicked off in frantic pace, Lyle Asiligwa put the first points on the board from a penalty. Brian Maina would soon go over for the quartered shirts on his birthday weekend to make it 8-0. Nondies were still taking time to settle into the game, Asiligwa would stretch Quins’ lead to 11 points, heading into the break.
Nondies had looked lethargic for most of the first half, perhaps too confident that they were going to win this one. On their part Quins were very efficient, taking each chance they had and defending resolutely.
The second half saw more of the same, Nondies failing to turn up with Quins making most of the chances they created. William Mawira would go over for the quartered shirts to make it 18-0 after Lyle added the extras.
Nondies then sparked into life in the last twenty minutes, Teddy Salano taking matters into his hands, breaking the Quins line to score under the posts. Charles Kanyi added the conversion to make it 18-7, suddenly we had a match on our hands.
The white shirts would soon make it a 4 point game, Kelvin Gacheru going over from a rolling maul, Kanyi making no mistake from the conversion to make it 18-14. The game was there for the taking for Nondies, with time quickly running out.

With Quins on the ropes, the white shirts won a penalty, and decided to kick it to the corner, given that they had already scored from a line out, plus three points wouldn’t have been enough. They however scuffed the line out throw, surrendering possession and the game to Quins, 18-14.
That last phase of play, perfectly summarised Nondies in this match, don’t think that they will get a better opportunity to beat Quins, ever. That result sees Quins leap frog Nondies into 6th spot on 15 points, the white shirts in 7th with 12 points.
