Let us kick off 2015 in style, for match day seven I host a great friend on head to head. The first lady here, yes it was about time.
She played a big role in starting this space that is odd shaped balls Kenya, mama Blake on any other day, Mama Homeboyz on Saturday. Sheilah is a rugby girl through and through, one of the few I know who actually understand this game, ile ya ukweli si ya kuwika tu.
For her predictions she has gone ahead and given reasons as to why she thinks the result will go how it will go. Which will probably give me a few headaches when ranking the results, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. For now here are Sheilah’s predictions.
Kenya Harlequins v Homeboyz .
I will give it to the Deejays to win with 10+ points. Why? Because they are agile, they are hungry, they are unpredictable. The games against Bulls and Monks were impeccable. They played rather well against Mwamba too. Quins on the other hand, were on a roll against Nondies but they have struggled this season.
KCB v Total Nondies
I give it to KCB (considering their form and consistency in the league this season) 20+. KCB has a balanced team, they play very well as a block. After watching the Nondies vs Quins game, I think KCB will win this. However, if Nondies bring the zeal they had against Homeboyz, then we will have a MATCH on our hands!! But KCB might still win(their game vs Impala….waaaahhh!)
Catholic Monks v Blak Blad
This could go either way but I would give it to Blad because of their experience in Kenya Cup (this being their second consecutive year in the league), they played well against Mombasa and have been fighting even in their losses. It will definitely be a tough match considering the university rivalry. Close scoreline( Draw or less than 7)
Pan Africa Strathmore Leos v Mwamba
This could go either way, two good teams with an almost similar style of play. But on individual team’s assessment, Strath are unbeaten this season. If they come with the mentality that they will definitely win the game, Mwamba will shock them.
On the other hand, Mwamba will be boosted by some of their more experienced faces (e.g Lavin Fly-half extraordinaire, Sikuta, Injera…to mention a few), Pablo-who I hear has been playing very well. They staged a serious match against Homeboyz so I would hand this to Mwamba to win. But it will be a very close scoreline.
Mombasa Sports Club v Mean Machine
This is a direct one as well. After watching the Machine Vs Kabras game I would hands down give it to Machine to win against Mombasa. (If they actually get to travel to Mombasa) Win with a Bonus.
Top Fry Nakuru v Western Bulls.
This is almost direct. At the Suguta Valley Wanyore have been in insane form from last season. They are also the defending champions, and are high on confidence they also have arguably the most experienced and strongest forwards in the league. So I hand this one to Nakuru with 35+
Kabras Sugar v Resolution Impala Saracens.
This is a tight one. Considering it will be played in Kakamega, it could be tricky for Impala, it is early in the year, they might not have all the players back from holiday and such like logistical factors. Having said that, the Kabras team that played against Machine struggled and especially in the first half, their pack isn’t as solid and as experienced as Impala’s. If they play against a full Impala side, then Impala will win with a Bonus.
I have a gut feeling kutakuwa na draw…but….sijui which teams. If I get this right I am starting a church…nishakuwa prophet!
Hehehe. All the best to the teams. Cheers to rugby!
Hehe I should have used this as my preview…anyway here are my predictions :
Quins +10 over Homeboyz
KCB +30 over Nondies
Blad +15 over Monks
Strathmore +5 over Mwamba
Machine +10 over Mombasa
Nakuru +30 over Western Bulls
Impala +10 over Kabras
