Foxx Takes On Cardo On Head To Head

The play offs are here with us, and just like the teams are stepping it up, we are doing the same on Head to head.

I have been hosting one guest during the league phase, over the next two weeks I’ll be looking to host more. To kick us off is the ‘dynamic duo’ of Willis ‘Foxx’ Ojal and Charles ‘Cardo’ Cardovillis. The two go way back to before 2005 when they both played for Nondies getting inducted to the club’s coach development programme.

Since then they have set the trail right from High school to National level. Cardo went on to raise to assistant Kenya 7s coach under Mitch Ocholla, he then had a stint at the Kenya Harlequins before recently championing rugby development at the county level.

Foxx dominated the schools scene in 2006 and 2007, with Nairobi School and has largely stuck to the schools, where he has moulded most of the household names in the game today. The two have recently been reunited, handling Mean Machine in the closing weeks of this season.

Like true tacticians they have gone ahead to give reason for their predictions, here they go!

KCB vs Strathmore

Foxx

My money is on KCB beating Strathmore. Reason being, KCB learn quite fast and always bounce back stronger, to me the loss to Nakuru was not a very good thing for the Leos.

The experience in KCB is also youthful, looking at guys like Curtis as well as Felix Wanjala, just to name a few. Their form throughout the season shows what kind of mental strength they have, the few games I watched where the opposition scored first I saw comebacks that only championship sides have, thus why my money is on KCB.

KCB over Strathmore by 9 points.

Cardo

The bankers will be too strong for the students. Although the latter will be welcoming back their 7s players. The money men who narrowly lost to the flamingoes will have too much power in the forwards. They will also have an advantage having played in the valley more recently than Ocholla’s boys. The 61-24 drubbing by Kabras will not help their cause

Nakuru vs Kabras

Foxx

Too many things riding for Nakuru, number one is the envy of every Kenya cup team, and that is their home support. Unbeaten all season meaning their comradery on the pitch keeps improving as each weekend passes by. They are defending champions, meaning they know what it takes to be a champion and did I mention that they will be playing in front of their home ‘funs’ 🙂

Nakuru by more than 10

Cardo

The sugar men will be fired up for this one but the experience of the men from the valley will win the day. The cooking fat sponsored boys will also have home advantage on their side and this will play against the Kenya Cup debutants. Nakuru vs KCB will be the final.

Nakuru over Kabras by 10

No surprises here as the two give quite similar predictions, the matches seem like straight forward affairs from the point of view. I don’t know I feel that an upset is on the cards at the NAC this weekend, problem is I can’t quite figure where it will hit.

Anyway here are my predictions :

KCB +15 over Strathmore.

Nakuru +20 over Kabras.

Yes, I have played it safe hehe, let’s see how you think the semi finals will pan out in the comments section below.
