Nakuru Will Beat Impala – Mnene

Whenever you think of a Quin, you probably get an image of a loud, proud and mostly arrogant character, right?

Jimmy Mnene.
Jimmy Mnene.

Well my guest this week, is a Quin with a difference, I sometimes think he should have picked another club, maybe he is the reason Quins is still here, hehe. I hope this Mojo rubs off on our team the Sharks once super rugby kicks off and in the long run the Boks.

Jimmy ‘Munene’ Mnene is the definition of a true rugby gent, as humble as they come, with a solid head on his shoulders and the calmest of demeanours.

Before joining Quins in 2011, he played for Mombasa in the 2008 Kenya cup, then joined Machine in 2009. You will now find Mnene, who was recently admitted as an Advocate of the High court (WABEEE!!) on the touchline handling his TM role, diligently. This after injury and study commitments brought his playing stint to an abrupt end.

Here is how he sees game 8 playing out :

Homeboyz +20 over Machine
Nakuru +3 over Impala
KCB +5 over Mwamba
Western Bulls +10 over Thika
Kabras +3 over Strathmore
Kenya Harlequin +20 over Blad
Nondies +25 over Sharks

He goes on to point out how modest he has been with those margins, lets see how far that modesty takes him.

Here are my predictions :

Homeboyz +50 over Machine.
Impala draw with Nakuru.
KCB +7 over Mwamba.
Western Bulls +20 over Thika.
Kabras +10 over Strathmore.
Kenya Harlequin +40 over Blad.
Nondies +30 over Sharks.

Yes I do think, that Impala vs Nakuru will end in a draw, a low scoring one at that.

So how do you think things will play out on Match day 8?

Safari Sevens, Twenty Seven!

The twenty-seventh edition of Africa’s premier sevens tournament, the Safari Sevens, is set for the 10th to 12th of October at the Nyayo National Stadium. The tournament returns to the Nyayo Stadium since 2021 (first edition after Covid). Still, perhaps more memorably, since it was played there for the first time in 2011, when Samoa […]

It has been an interesting couple of months for Kenya Rugby, although when has it ever been otherwise? This time, however, it has been a bit more interesting, louder, and a bit more chaotic. I won’t go into the details of the said wrangles, which have marked a new low for the sport (story for […]
