This is not to say or in any way infer that all other games taking place this Weekend are not important, a far cry from it. At this point as we get into the second half of the season every single game for every single team is important.

We’re slowly approaching the Business End of the season, and whether you’re looking to go down in the history books and bask in the glory of a Kenya Cup Champion or at the brink of irrelevance and looking to hold on to avoid relegation, every game at this point is IMPORTANT!
Be it punishing weak defenses and maximizing on tries or keeping within 7 on a loss to get bonus points, it’s all about points, picking up points be it 5, 4, 2 or even 1 they will add up at the end.
Down to it, this weekend we have Two Big fixtures, Impala v Homeboys and Nakuru v Kabras.
Resolution Impala Saracens v Menengai Cream Homeboyz -4.00pm – Impala Club
Homeboyz have appointed a new coach. They are a well-drilled side. Having had a coach who was in the army, its no surprise! With quick wingers that have attracted call ups to the Kenya 7s side and a never say die attitude, -is that energizer or Duracell? Whatever the brand they have it!
They are a dangerous side. Proved time and time again, from them having to win two ESS championships in a row to gain recognition at the Big Boy’s Table, to them claiming their first win ever over current champions KCB last week! Basically they will knock on the door and if you don’t let them in, they WILL break it down or die trying.
Impala have proved time and time again this season they are a running side, with a huge points difference, clean over the rest -scoring tries from deep almost at will. With a plethora of Individual talent to boot, having within their squad about 5 or 6 genuine match winners.
Impala over the last few seasons have been the butt of numerous jokes, from memes to talks of “ baulo” to “ keep scrolling lower to find Impala on the log”! True, Impala has been quiet for the past few seasons, but if you think for even one second that the BEAST has not awoken, you could not be more mistaken. The Benja days are back! Seeking to reclaim their glory days, committed to claim the crown back, they believe the season is purely a formality, they want back what they believe is rightfully theirs, The Kenya Cup!

Match Ups
Nato v Haroun Lubasia
His running game is second to none, few can match his passing ability and vision. His ability to read the game is supreme. And a side step that….you just need to see it for yourself but Benji Marshall comes to mind. (youtube if you must , you will not be disappointed). Fit and experienced and ability to kick with both feet comfortably, a key feature for Impala for sure!
Haroun, a good pass and ability to distribute the ball, a kicking specialist; He is making a name for himself at fly half and what better way that to come up against and prove himself against the Master.
Chisanga v Joel Omer
Full of youth and the definition of a Battering Ram on attack; Joshua is powerful and you can just ask any of the many victims he has left in the wake of his destruction! He will put doubt and fear into defenders attracting lots of attention. Therefore obviously a good decoy as well, so all in all a major option for Homeboyz on attack.
Good on the tackle, powerful on both defense and attack, with skills to boot he is the complete package. Joel is a fetcher at the breakdown and a player driven by passion! A great leader around the park and great inspiration for those around him; He will leave it all on the field!!
Top Fry Nakuru v Kabras Sugar – 4.00pm – Nakuru Athletic Club
Revenge will be on the minds of all the Nakuru faithful this weekend. Last year Kabras pulled, probably the biggest upset of the season defeating Nakuru, in Nakuru during in the most crucial of games, ending Nakuru’s hopes of being Champions 3 times ina row.
Nakuru have a good front 5 in the scrum, with a terrific work rate and good ball players, and they can be physical! Not to mention as a team they have a good rugby brain. Nakuru have not really clicked this season, picking up a home and away loss to Impala, they have not been the Nakuru we love to hate. But this will be more than a game; they will be up for this!
Kabras, a new outfit looking to cause upsets whenever and wherever they can. With the KCB raid they acquired some good experienced players and are all in all a good outfit, their thumping of Quins can confirm that. They are brutal, they love contact and they will keep coming round that corner. They will be looking for that second win in Nakuru, and with their Fijian/Kenyan mix, they most definitely can get it!
Match Ups
Max v Buyachi
Max; Kenya 15’s, he has been in inspired form this season, playing well and leading from the front. A good ball carrier and strong!!
Buyachi a.k.a Wila a.k.a Lawi a.k.a Mofasa; rumor has it that once a Kenya 15s training session had to be stopped after he dislocated someone’s hip with a tackle. Explosive, Powerful, Quick and Brutal it is no surprise many see him as the King of the Jungle.
